What exactly does giving us skillpoints do? I thought they were gained by training skills? What's the point of giving us skill points - would that not just make it so the number of skill points we have no longer reflects our true skill retention?

Can someone help me understand what "skill point compensation" actually is and why it doesn't does start to more and more inaccurately reflect what skills you actually have trained, or are they basically giving us free skills and then there comes the skill points? If so, how are the skills they give us for compensation calculated? If there is somewhere I can read about this, since I'm sort of lazy, can anyone give me a link or just give me a reasonably short but comprehensive explanation on this issue please?

People seriously need to get a life and chill out.
When a new expansion or patch comes out and is over 500 MB of space, that is hundreds if not thousands of hours of working to make that possible.
IF you know nothing of what online gaming actually requires in proper communication/organization/execution to make things like this work, ESPECIALLY adding new game-play things (like from not being able to get out of your ship to being able to do so), then realize that it is a HUGE undertaking with a HUGE repertoire for potential issues/bugs/mistakes.
They say it will be online at a certain time for a best case scenario and 85% of the time, these things do not work out the best way they are supposed to. Get used to it!
The best thing to do is: 1.Explain to me what skill point compensation is and how it works. 2.Go watch a movie or find one of those free mmo's online like D&D[[[https://trial.turbine.com/ddo.php?ftui=DDODefault&utm_source=Google_Search&utm_medium=Text&utm_campaign=DDOFree+to+Play+US%2C+CA&referral=127284]]] or some other, and play that for a few hours while you wait.

Ethomea, your exactly right. I still do not understand skill point compensation, but hey, there is nothing we can do about the down time but ***** and moan, and us here in the USA are fuggin' great at that. I just hate to see whiners get their way. Anyways, yea, I'd way rather get ISK for compensation rather than something about skill-points I don't yet understand... someone...please... explain... skill-point compensation please?

How would you get a 25 day training period, is there mods for Eve? I didn't think so.... that sucks if you guys are using mods, I consider it cheating and I frown upon that heavily. When I get more skilled I will come after people like you. Unless I just don't understand how a 25day training period is possible without cheating? Is it? How?

Why is it so hard for people to understand that Eve is NOT a child's game and you have to actually get a JOB in Eve if you want to make enough ISK to experience the game properly (though "properly is subjective"). If you cannot pay for Eve on your own in real cash, you need to find a lucrative career in Eve to pay for your PLEX.
Now I would join EVE UNIVERSITY and take some classes and learn how to do that. There are also many ways in real life to make the money to play Eve. I wouldn;t recmmend playing Eve until you have enough money to buy at least 3 months of game-time and a PLEX to sell for ISK to get started. You have many die-hard people out there with billions of ISK who make thier characters so bad ass that if you try and pvp, or do many things earning ISK in a normal fashion, without trading PLEX for ISK etc.
Basically these, what I call "Eve-twinks", will always kick your ass and own you at everything. Keep playing your 21 day/or 14 day trials till you can buy at least 2 months of Eve and a PLEX to trade for ISK, you will be a much more helpful and happy player.

Sexy pic Scarlet, not many can make girls look as sexy as they can be haha. I am a master by the way. Anyways, is there a place I can check out to see how long the downtime is, and when it is "Supposed" to be ready?

Um, seriously, we are lucky to even have skills keep training during downtime's, you guys are complaining about an extended downtime during the long awaited Incarna update/expansion: are you ****ting me?
What probably will happen is that down time will be increased 4-7 more times @ 2-8 hours /each one, so Eve might be 3-8 days before coming back online, don't be surprised.
Also, if we don't get ANY compensation for a long unexpected downtime, we should not complain, CCP has build us the best mmo is the universe, who f$*%&ng cares.
